Tater Family

You don't need to watch every message. You need to know when something dangerous is happening.

Tater gives your parent plain-English warnings in the moment and helps bring you into the high-risk situations that may need a second pair of eyes.

Early access

The problem

Scams work when someone is isolated, rushed, or embarrassed. That is not a character flaw — it is how manipulation works.

  • Mom calls after she has already been talking to someone for several days.
  • Dad forwards a suspicious email after he already clicked the link.
  • A parent buys gift cards before asking whether the request was real.
  • Someone shares financial information because the message felt urgent and official.

How Tater Family works

From detection to guardian involvement — with privacy built in at every step.

  1. 1

    Parent receives a suspicious message

Tater scans opened email locally — no new app to learn.

  2. 2

Tater detects orange or red risk

Scam signals combine into a clear risk level.

  3. 3

    Tater explains in plain English

What looks wrong and what to do next — without jargon.

  4. 4

    Tater slows a risky action

Warnings appear before clicking, replying, or calling.

  5. 5

Parent can ask a trusted guardian

  7. 7

    Guardian responds quickly

    Early access

Don't respond, call me, I'll handle this — from the family dashboard.

Communication with the scammer can stop

Stop Contact Mode helps break the loop — early access.

What guardians can see and do

Guardians do not need access to someone’s entire inbox to help. Tater surfaces the orange and red moments that may need attention.

Each guardian alert includes

  • Risk level (orange or red)
  • Sender
  • Subject
  • Reason Tater flagged it
  • Attempted action — clicked, replied, downloaded, called, or tried to send sensitive info
  • Optional full message — only if the protected user chooses to share it
Red risk2 min ago

From: Bank Security <security-notice@paypa1-secure.net>

Subject: URGENT — Verify your account within 24 hours

Why flagged: Sender domain doesn’t match the real bank. Message creates urgency and asks for account details.

Attempted action: Tried to reply with account information

Guardian can respond with

Full message sharing is always optional and controlled by the protected user — never automatic.

Helping someone stay safe should not require reading their entire inbox.

Full message content is not automatically shared with guardians.

Loop in my family when money or sensitive information is involved.

  • Ask My Guardian is prominent
  • Sensitive-send protection is stronger

  • Best after a recent scam scare or for highly vulnerable users

Guard Level is a protective setting — not a way to control someone. The protected person stays in charge of their inbox.
